Join Bruins for a screening of "Vertigo" at the Stanford Theater. There will be a reception beforehand from 6 to 7 pm at the Patio, a block away, at 412 Emerson street.
The Stanford Theater, in downtown Palo Alto, is one of California’s last fully-functioning movie palaces. Come early, grab some popcorn and listen to live music performed on the cinema’s Wurlitzer organ. Tickets are available for purchase by cash or credit card at the box office the day of the show.
About "Vertigo":
Retired San Francisco police detective “Scottie” Ferguson (James Stewart) becomes obsessed with Madeleine Elster (Kim Novak), a troubled woman he is privately hired to follow. But tragedy strikes, and Scottie’s fixation reaches a fever pitch when he stumbles upon Judy Barton (also played by Novak), a young woman who bears a striking resemblance to Madeleine.
