SAA 40th Reunion

The Student Alumni Association celebrates 40 years!

Friday, May 17

Due to Spring Sing being cancelled, we have two events for your consideration for Friday night.

Option 1: We will be gathering at Brewport Tap House in El Segundo. It’s a Bruin-owned, family-friendly gastropub that features 60 taps of beer, cider, wines and kombucha. We will provide heavy appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks. To purchase alcoholic beverages, you can load your personal tap wristband and pour your own selections.

Time: 6:30 – 9 p.m.
Location: 204 Main St, El Segundo, CA 90245
Parking: There are a couple parking lots around the venue

Option 2: For those that prefer something more athletic, the UCLA Baseball team has a game at 6 p.m. on Friday. The cost of your Spring Sing ticket will be transferred to cover your tickets for the game, and we will coordinate your ticket purchase.

Time: 6 p.m.
Location: Jackie Robinson Stadium
Parking: Lot 32, then take a shuttle to the stadium

Saturday, May 18

10 a.m. Clarkia Festival (Optional campus activity)

The UCLA Mathias Botanical Garden is hosting the inaugural Clarkia Festival on May 18. The Garden will be filled with music, art, and of course, the magnificent pink and purple blooms of the Clarkia flowers. Join for Garden tours and educational activities at this beautiful springtime event if you'd like something fun for the family to do before the brunch reception. (Free admission.)

11 a.m. Brunch Reunion Reception (JWAC)

Meet with SAA alumni for a brunch reception to reconnect and reminisce. Enjoy a brunch buffet with remarks from the current Associate Vice Chancellor of Alumni Affairs, past SAA advisors and BOD members. Most importantly, catch up with old friends and make some new ones that share your SAA experience. Hear from current SAA volunteers about their experience. There will be a space for children to play games, color and watch a family-friendly movie screening.

2 p.m. Campus Tours Led by Current SAA Members

See UCLA and what has changed and stayed the same. Tours will be led by current students. Get ready to snap a picture at your favorite spots and bring comfortable shoes for our hilly campus.

6 p.m. Activities on Your Own

Other optional activities are in the works. Check back on this webpage for more optional SAA alumni gatherings. Updates will also be shared on the SAA Facebook page.

Sunday, May 19

11 a.m. Brunch in the Dorms (Bruin Plate)

Enjoy the newest in UCLA cuisine. Bruin Plate is one of the most popular dining halls, and you can taste what the students are loving. From organic to gluten-free options, this is not your traditional “dorm food.” Meal tickets for Bruin Plate can be purchased on the SAA Reunion Registration Page.

Submit Photos and Videos

Photos - Share your SAA memories by submitting your photos to be included in a slideshow at the event.

Videos - Submit a video answering the question “What does SAA mean to you?” to be included in a Reunion video. Please limit video to less than 20 seconds and film horizontally.
