Byron Scott '86, M.D.

Byron Scott '86, M.D., has been named by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) a 2023 honoree of the NACD Directorship 100, an annual recognition of the leading corporate directors, corporate governance experts, policymakers and influencers who significantly impact boardroom practices and performance.

The NACD is an authority on boardroom practices representing more than 23,000 board members.

Scott was honored as outstanding nonprofit director for his work on the boards of Accuray Inc., Direct Relief, Rady Children's Hospital San Diego and Providence Health Plan. Awardees exemplify NACD’s principles of director professionalism: integrity, mature confidence, informed judgment and high-performance standards. 

Scott earned his bachelor's degree in psychobiology, his M.D. from UC San Diego and a MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
