Janet L. Jones, M.A. '85, Ph.D. '89
Janet L. Jones, M.A. '85, Ph.D. '89, is the author of a new book called "Horse Brain, Human Brain," which was published in 2020 by Trafalgar Square Books.
"The book is based on my background as a brain scientist and a horse trainer, a rare and quirky combination that’s perfect for the new development of brain-based horsemanship.
"In the highest levels of equestrian sport, horses and humans work together in mutual brain-to-brain communication that is remarkable in many ways — for example, by interaction between prey and predator brains."
The book, her fourth, is not just about horses: it was recently listed as one of Book Authority’s “Ten Best Human Brain Books to Read in 2021.” It was published six months ago during the height of pandemic shutdown and is already in its fourth printing.
