Neama Rahmani '99
Neama Rahmani '99, CEO and President of West Coast Trial Lawyers in Los Angeles, is the subject of a profile on VoyageLA.com.
Rahmani graduated from UCLA at age 19 with a degree in political science and went on to be, at age 22, one of the youngest graduates of Harvard Law School.
"I've had the fortunate opportunity to work directly with Neama since graduation," Kylie Chang '19 said. "He is an inspiring leader, boss and individual whose story and career path I admire and look up to."
Rahmani joined O'Melveny & Myers upon graduation from law school, where he represented large corporations and successfully tried dozens of cases. He served as federal prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney's office and director of enforcement for the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission. According to the biographical information on his company's website, Rahmani successfully prosecuted a fugitive murderer and drug kingpin who had terrorized Southern California and was featured on “America’s Most Wanted.”
In 2014, stepping away from corporate and government law, Rahmani founded his law firm, West Coast Trial Lawyers, for which he now represents everyday clients who have been wrongfully injured or discriminated against in a broad range of both personal injury and employment cases. He also currently resides on the UCLA Political Science Board of Advisors and loves supporting the Bruin athletic teams with his wife and two children.
Rahmani is Persian-American and was born to two immigrant parents who moved to the U.S. from Iran for their education.
"He is a role model," Chang said, "not only to the Persian community, but also to minorities in law everywhere. He is passionate about giving back to the communities that have shaped where he is today.
"He has taught me and my peers so much about criminal and civil law in addition to offering advice to help us develop our personal and professional growth."
