Shedding Light and Breaking Boundaries: Pilipinx Research for Community Transformation

Thank you for your interest in joining the UCLA Pilipino Alumni Association (PAA) and Pilipino American Graduate Student Association (PAGaSA) for networking with P/Filipino/a/x researchers and learning about their work at our Pilipinx Student Research Symposium entitled "Shedding Light and Breaking Boundaries: Pilipinx Research for Community Transformation" Spring Quarter, Friday May 14, 2021 from 11:30am-3pm.

After opening our event with a keynote speaker, we will share a resource list of Pilipinx researchers and celebrate undergraduate students who will participate in the UCLA Undergraduate Research Week. Immediately afterwards, we will host 2 panels of graduate students presenting their research with moderators facilitating Q&A with the audience. We will conclude with a networking mixer where participants can build connections beyond the symposium.

1) Sharing your interests/expertise and/or contact info with other participants to facilitate networking portion of the symposium - due 5/14/21
2) Featuring your research in a curated annotated bibliography (a reference list that includes a brief summary and analysis for each researcher's work listed) - due 5/7/21
3) Providing/receiving research mentorship or social-emotional support - due 3/26/21
